- Milk– 2% milk is what Starbucks uses so we will stick to that in this recipe as well.
- Espresso– Use your favorite espresso to recreate this drink recipe at home.
- White chocolate sauce– You can use my Homemade Mocha Coffee Syrup Recipe or use the store-bought one.
- Heavy cream – This will be used in the cold foam. Make sure it is very cold so that it whips up nicely.
- Cocoa powder– Use unsweetened cocoa powder for the chocolate cold foam.
- Peppermint syrup– This syrup will give our chocolate cold foam that delicious subtle peppermint flavor as well as a little sweetness.
- Chocolate shavings– This is optional but I highly recommend it because it will give your drink a totally store-bought feel and vibe.

What if I don’t have an espresso machine?
If you don’t have an espresso machine you can always use instant coffee with a little hot water to mimic the espresso or use an Italian espresso maker which is a simple $10 espresso maker that you can use on the stovetop.
IS THIS SIMILAR TO THE STARBUCKS ICED MOCHA LATTE?
Somewhat yes but it has some clear differences. The difference here is that it is topped with a peppermint chocolate cold foam which is a thick layer of frother heavy cream, milk, cocoa powder, and peppermint.
When it sits on top of the drink some of the flavors will seep into the base of the white chocolate mocha latte and turn it into a peppermint white chocolate but also regular chocolate latte and it is the best invention thus far.
Can I Make this Drink Without a Handheld Frother?
You sure can.
there are a few ways to make the chocolate cold foam topping. The easiest one is to add all of the ingredients to a small blender like the Nutri Bullet or a Zwilling and blend until thick foam forms.
The other one which requires a little more physical work would be to put all of the ingredients for the chocolate cold foam into a mason jar. Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously until the mixture thickens.
Use your cold foam as you would the one made with a handheld frother and enjoy your drink.
Will Starbucks Have this Drink Year Round?
This drink seems to be a holiday-centric drink which is probably only going to be around for the winter season. Thankfully, now you have this recipe so you can enjoy your newest favorite drink all year long.
Do I Have to Buy Chocolate Curls?
You can get your chocolate curls from the store if you want something that looks perfectly curled but you can also grab a chocolate bar and a potato peeler and peel the chocolate way.
This will give you fun little curls without having to spend any extra money 🙂
