Let’s Chit Chat!
Valentine’s Day cookies are kind of my weakness, especially anything pink, red, and loaded with mix-ins. I tested these Oreo M&M cookies to make sure they stayed thick and chewy without chilling, even with all the add-ins.
My favorite part is how customizable they are. You can use classic Oreos, red velvet Oreos, or even the ones with pink filling depending on what you find in stores. Every batch feels festive, fun, and bakery-worthy without being fussy.
Why These Valentine’s Day Oreo M&M Cookies Work
- No chill time which means faster baking
- Thick, chewy cookie base that holds heavy mix-ins
- Oreo chunks + Valentine’s M&M’s in every bite
- Easy to customize with different Oreo flavors

Ingredients for this Valentine’s day Oreo cookie recipe
Here are the ingredients you will need to make these cookies. Make sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the full detailed ingredient measurements.
- Butter- You can use salted or unsalted butter as long as it’s at room temperature.
- Brown sugar & granulated sugar- This combination of sugars will give our cookies the perfect texture.
- Egg – Use one egg at room temperature for this.
- Vanilla extract– This will add extra depth to our cookies.
- Flour– All-purpose flour works great for this recipe.
- Baking soda– Baking soda is our leavening agent. It will give some height to the cookies.
- Salt– Always add a little salt to the cookies to balance out the sweetness.
- Oreo cookies- Make sure that your crushed Oreos or Oreo pieces are not double stuff. That would mess up the consistency of our cookies.
- Valentine’s day m&m’s– These are usually sold around January/February for the holiday.

How to make Valentine’s day Oreo M&m’s cookies
This is how you can make these cookies. Make sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the full detailed instructions!
- Cream the butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and gently fold until the flour mixture disappears and soft dough forms.
- Mix in the Oreo crumbs and chunks as well as Valentine’s day m&m’s then using a large cookie scoop, scoop out the cookie dough.

- Place the cookie dough balls onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, top with more chopped Oreos and Valentine’s day m&m’s, and bake in the preheated oven.
- Let the cookies cool down on a cooling rack before digging in.

Tips for The Perfect Cookies
- Underbake slightly for best texture. The centers should look soft when they come out, they’ll finish setting as they cool.
- Use regular Oreos, not Double Stuf. Extra filling can cause the cookies to spread too much.
- Don’t overmix once the flour is added. Mixing just until combined keeps the cookies soft and chewy.
- Top the dough balls before baking. Press extra Oreo pieces and Valentine’s M&M’s on top for bakery-style cookies.

Frequently asked questions – FAQ
Yes! These cookies stay soft for several days when stored in an airtight container, making them perfect for gifting or party prep.
Absolutely. Valentine’s M&M’s add color, but the recipe works perfectly with classic M&M’s year-round.
You can store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. You can pop them in the microwave for a few seconds to get them all melty again before enjoying them with a tall glass of milk.
You can free them in an air-tight container or a freezer bag/ziplock bag for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight or pop them in the microwave for a few seconds before enjoying.
If your cookies aren’t spread, you might’ve added too much flour. Make sure to measure your flour properly to keep them from not spreading. Use the scoop and level method or a kitchen scale preferably.
This recipe is made with regular Oreos so make sure not to use double Stuff Oreos. The extra filling in the cookie will mix with the cookie dough and make the cookies spread too much.
You sure can! They are large and in charge, perfect for holding together your favorite ice cream in the center. My tip would be to underbake them a little if you are trying to make ice cream sandwiches with them to keep them soft and chewy.
With this recipe, all you would have to do is use 1:1 gluten-free flour and gluten-free Oreos to transform it. Thank God they’re so easily accessible nowadays at most grocery stores.

- 2 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup Valentine's day m&m's
- 7 Oreo cookies roughly chopped, regular stuffed (NOT DOUBLE STUFFED
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silpat.
- In a medium bowl, cream the butter and both sugars together. I did so using my spatula.1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- Add in the vanilla and egg and mix everything is smooth and well incorporated.1 egg, 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Add in the dry ingredients over the wet ingredient mixture, starting with the flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt. Stir just until combined.1 & 1/3 cup flour, 1 tbsp corn starch, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt
- Fold in the M&M's, and Oreo pieces then using a large cookie scooper (1/4 cup- 4 tbsp), scoop our the cookie dough to create 10 equal cookies.2/3 cup Valentine's day m&m's, 7 Oreo cookies
- Place them on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 13 minutes. Don't worry if they look underdone or gooey in the middle. That's what we want, they will continue to bake even after you pull them out of the oven to cool. Use a larger cookie cutter to swish the cookies around as soon as they come out to make them perfectly round.
- Cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack.

These were delicious! I had leftover Christmas colored M&Ms and used those to make cookies for the Super Bowl! I split the colors to make red ones for the Chiefs and green for the Eagles!
omg!! I am so glad to hear. Good thing you repurposed your M&Ms. We hate waste over here!
These look delicious! I do not own a kitchen scale. Do you have another way to measure the flour?
No I don’t, the scale is the best way 🙁 measuring in grams gives the most accuracy for the best end result. Hopefully you can get one soon!
Chahinez is the GOAT when it comes to copycat Crumbl recipes AND her own creations as well. I used this recipe (Oreo M&M cookies) and almost everyone I gave it to loved it! They told me it’s one of the best cookies they’ve ever had! That is such a compliment, especially since most of them are Asians and we typically like our desserts to be not overly sweet. I think Chahinez’s recipe hits the spot! Don’t hesitate to try this recipe out (or any of her other ones). You won’t regret it ☺️
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words Aubrey! I’m so thrilled to hear that the Oreo M&M cookies were such a hit. That means so much! I’m so glad the recipe hit the right balance. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m so happy they loved the cookies! ☺️
we loved these cookies at valentines so much that I’m going to make some with mini eggs instead of m&ms today 😋
That’s such a great idea! I’m really glad you liked them!
I love Oreos and m&ms, so I was excited to find this recipe. I followed it exactly and they turned out great 😊! My whole family loved them! Thank you for sharing!😋
You’re very welcome 🙂
I found this recipe but can’t find the rest of your Valentines series. Please help
Hi Deedee! You can search for each recipe using the search button or you can also comment on the actual instagram post and I will DM you the link directly!!
This recipe is delicious! It is written down as the best damn cookies. They are my go to. Thus batter is very hard on scoops. I have ruined quite a few. I use a 3Tbsp to make a few more cookies. Where do you buy and what kind of scoop do you use? Thanks!
Wonderful recipe! Turned out great!
I’m so glad that you liked it!
Do you have to refrigerate the dough before baking?
No you do not
Delicious, so fun to make, and gorgeous! I made a double recipe. They don’t spread too much which is great. I do want to say though that the nutrition facts are NOT accurate. Obviously we’re eating these for fun not nutrition, but if you look at the nutrition facts it’s misleading. I used a calorie counting app and entered in the exact amount and type of ingredients used and correct yield for those ingredients and ended up with one cookie being 395 calories. I added 4 extra Oreos for the topping, so if you didn’t then they’d be 375 cals each. Don’t let it keep you from enjoying ‘em, but just something to note!
Sorry about that, and thank you for the feedback. I’m still glad you enjoyed them 🙂
Hi! I followed the exact ingredients and both time they were a fail. I am not sure what i did wrong. Any suggestions?
One of the most common mistake I see with this recipe is either not weighing your ingredients with a kitchen scale or using double stuff Oreos!
Obsessed with this recipe !! I Have made these cookies several times and everyone loves them . Thank you for sharing your amazing recipes .
You’re very welcome! I’m so glad you enjoy them 🙂
