Copycat CRUMBL chilled Twix cookies are the cookie recipe you never knew you needed until now. They are inspired by the famous and very original cookies that come from the Utah cookie bakery chain.
These cookies are served chilled just like their chilled sugar cookies with pink almond frosting. The base cookie recipe is very similar in both of these cookies except that the Twix one only has vanilla extract instead of almond extract and vanilla extract. It also has toffee bits which will accentuate the caramel flavor of the cookie itself.
This is the best CRUMBL Twix sugar cookie recipe!
I actually made this CRUMBL Twix cookie recipe a few times, but the last time I made them they didn’t have the toffee bits in them. I ended up taking the photos for this recipe then because it was my best batch thus far. So don’t be alarmed when you see no toffee bits in the cookie dough.
This recipe is best with them, but since I wanted to get it out to you ASAP, I decided to use these photos anyways until I make this recipe again and can save enough of it to photograph again.

Frequently asked questions – FAQ
Can I use homemade caramel?
Yes! You can use whichever caramel you want. If you decide to use homemade caramel sauce make sure it’s on the lighter side so that it doesn’t overpower the chocolate and the cookie flavor.
Make sure that your homemade caramel is also chilled to that it can be easily spreadable on the cookies.
Should I use chocolate chips or a chocolate bar for the topping?
The choice is yours. You can use either milk chocolate chips or a milk chocolate bar. As long as the chocolate weight about 110grams you should be fine.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you should make sure that the chocolate you are using is the best quality chocolate ever because otherwise your cookies won’t taste as good!
How to store CRUMBL Twix cookies?
You can store these cookies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days or you can place them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Once you’re ready to enjoy them, place your frozen Twix sugar cookies in the fridge overnight to thaw before eating them.

Very goog cookie. I live the concept. I made these twice. The second time I reduced the flour to 1 3/4 and increased the salt to 1/2 tsp. With the reduction of flour, the dough was much easier to work with. I venture to say it could reduced a little bit more. When you stick your pan in the fridge make sure your pan is flat. Mine was a little crooked and my caramel and chocolate slid to one side. Still taste good.
Chahinez
These are great modifications! I’m glad you enjoyed the recipe!😊
Michelle
I made these cookies as written except I used my own homemade caramel sauce (because yessss) and they’re wonderful. Super easy and surprisingly quick to make. Will make over and over again. Thank you!!!
Megan
Super yummy! They turned out so pretty and yummy. I used homemade caramel sauce. I saw some comments about them being a little crumbly so I cut back on the flour a little bit but found they’re still a little crumbly. Still loved by everyone
Lindsey
What kind/brand of chocolate do you recommend?
Chahinez
HEATH BITS O’ BRICKLE English Toffee Bits and Ghirardelli Premium Baking Chips!
Promise
These cookies are so good! Especially when you put the cookie in the fridge to let the caramel and chocolate harden, they’re amazing and taste just like real twix bars!
Chahinez
Sounds delish. Enjoy!
Erika
I love this recipe!
Chahinez
So glad to hear that!
Jennifer
I made these and my husband and kids ate them so quickly. They loved the flavor and texture. Thanks for the recipe!
Chahinez
You’re welcome Jennifer!
Julia
Cookie base was outstanding! It was a little crumbly so I will probably use slightly less flour next time. I weigh all my ingredients and used 275g of flour (I use 130g for 1 cup). I used Kraft caramels and did have an issue with the caramel running over the sides even after chilling. Definitely going to be using this base for other recipes!
Chahinez
Thank you for the comment Julia!
Ashley
The cookie base itself was a little crumbly and felt more like a shortbread than the advertised “fluffy sugar cookie”. I’ll add less flour next time. And there will be a next time… these are delicious. Instead of making caramel sauce and melting chocolate, I added a dark chocolate salted caramel square (super inexpensive from Aldi) to the top of each cookie about 2 minutes before I took them out of the oven. Then a quick swirl with the spoon when they were done and they are perfection!

Twix is my absolute favorite candy bar and to have it recreated in a cookie is everything I’ve ever wanted! The toffee bits send this cookie over the edge for me. The cookie is so buttery and full of caramel flavor. I will be making this one often!
Chahinez
So glad to hear you enjoyed these Tomma!
Lori
These cookies were a huge hit in my house. I am not a big fan of Twix candy bars (I know–I am weird) so I wasn’t all that excited about making these but the rest of my family kept requesting them so I finally made them. They lasted less than a day and my sons have been asking me to make more ever since. Definitely a keeper recipe!
Laurie
Can I make the cookies smaller?
Chahinez
Yes! Bake for 2-3 minutes less.
Brenda
Michelle. How much or what size is a large scoop are you using? Thank you.
Chahinez
1/4 cup scoop!
Michelle
What are chocolate covered toffee bits? Do I have to have those? I bought stuff for another recipes but the raving reviews on yours make me want to make these!
Chahinez
It’s the Heath toffee bits that are covered in chocolate!
Chahinez
BryceB
is the nutrition for one cookie or is it for the whole batch?
Chahinez
It’s for one cookie!

Corinne
Hi! This looks amazing. I currently have dulce de leche in my house, but no caramel candies. Would using the dulce for the caramel layer, work for this recipe ? thank you!
Chahinez
it sure will!! It might not give you the exact pull that you see in some of the photos but it will be delicious nonetheless! Make sure that your dulce de leche is on the thicker side so it doesn’t drip all over, or just chill it before using!
Chahinez
Amy
Hi! Does the caramel sauce need to be refrigerated since it has cream in it or is it shelf stable? How long can they be kept at room temp? Thank you!
Chahinez
Since these cookies are supposed to be served chilled, I would just store them in the fridge. They can stay out at room tempt all day but they are way better chilled!
Chahinez
Aisha
Super delicious!!! Will be making again!!
Chahinez
Enjoy!

Is it possible to make this gluten free? I would love to make these for my gluten free friend!

These were good but not my favorite. After making the cinnamon roll cookies earlier this week, it will be hard to top those! These cookies were super easy to make, and I already had most of the ingredients on hand. As with the other copycats, I prefer them heated in the microwave for about 10 seconds. They came out great, I just personally like some of your other copycat recipes better :).
Mo
Can I use milk instead of heavy cream?
Chahinez
You definitely need the high fat of the heavy cream to make that caramel sauce.
