Copycat CRUMBL chilled Twix cookies are the cookie recipe you never knew you needed until now. They are inspired by the famous and very original cookies that come from the Utah cookie bakery chain.
These cookies are served chilled just like their chilled sugar cookies with pink almond frosting. The base cookie recipe is very similar in both of these cookies except that the Twix one only has vanilla extract instead of almond extract and vanilla extract. It also has toffee bits which will accentuate the caramel flavor of the cookie itself.
This is the best CRUMBL Twix sugar cookie recipe!
I actually made this CRUMBL Twix cookie recipe a few times, but the last time I made them they didn’t have the toffee bits in them. I ended up taking the photos for this recipe then because it was my best batch thus far. So don’t be alarmed when you see no toffee bits in the cookie dough.
This recipe is best with them, but since I wanted to get it out to you ASAP, I decided to use these photos anyways until I make this recipe again and can save enough of it to photograph again.

Frequently asked questions – FAQ
Can I use homemade caramel?
Yes! You can use whichever caramel you want. If you decide to use homemade caramel sauce make sure it’s on the lighter side so that it doesn’t overpower the chocolate and the cookie flavor.
Make sure that your homemade caramel is also chilled to that it can be easily spreadable on the cookies.
Should I use chocolate chips or a chocolate bar for the topping?
The choice is yours. You can use either milk chocolate chips or a milk chocolate bar. As long as the chocolate weight about 110grams you should be fine.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you should make sure that the chocolate you are using is the best quality chocolate ever because otherwise your cookies won’t taste as good!
How to store CRUMBL Twix cookies?
You can store these cookies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days or you can place them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Once you’re ready to enjoy them, place your frozen Twix sugar cookies in the fridge overnight to thaw before eating them.

Does this recipe firm up enough to place in cellophane bags or is it too sticky?
Can’t wait to try it.
Chahinez
If you chill them enough in the fridge they should be fine in cellophane bags, they’ll still be a bit sticky but not as much as if they were at room temp. I would say that these would be better in little cookie boxes. Hope this helped 🙂 Can’t wait for you to try them!

Kelly
Hi! Just one question about the caramel step. How long can it chill in the fridge? I see you say to make it while the cookies are cooling, but also say to make it earlier than that! Just don’t want to mess it up. Excited to make these today!
Chahinez
So sorry about the confusion! You want to make the caramel first and then do the rest. This will keep it from being too liquidy when you’re topping your cookies with it.
Hope this helped 🙂

THE. DOUGH. I felt like a Master baker after making these! Such an easy recipe to follow but so delicious and i’ve never made cookies with such a great consistency before! I can’t wait to try more of your recipes, thank you!!!
p.s. i chilled the cookies after putting the caramel on for a bit before finishing them with the chocolate just so they wouldn’t mix and it was super easy!
Chahinez
I am so happy that this recipe made you feel great! It’s truly a work of art and making it at home makes it even better!

Would Trade Joe’s caramel sauce be ok to use? Have a jar already opened.
Chahinez
I have never used it before to be honest. If it hardens a little bit when chilled then it would be perfect!
emily

Chahinez
So happy to hear you enjoyed these Emily!

If I halve the size of the cookies, would that alter the baking time much?
Chahinez
You will have to reduce the baking time by about 2 minutes for smaller ones. My best tip is to make a trial cookie and bake it first, let it cool, and taste it to see if it’s baked to your likings. to make smaller Twix cookies I would suggest baking them for 7ish minutes.
Hope this helped!

Kaylee

Hi!! quick question
Can I make the dough a day before, put it in the fridge and then use the dough the day after?
Chahinez
Yes! Make sure to bring the dough down to room temp before baking. Don’t forget to wrap your cookie dough tightly with plastic wrap or by placing it in an airtight container so it doesn’t dry out.
Chahinez
Jessica
Another one of my favorites! If you haven’t already make these!

Is the dough supposed to be super “Crumbly” before you roll it into balls?
Chahinez
A little. If it is too crurmbly you might’ve added too much flour.
Chahinez
Zach
How much is one stick of butter? 🙂 I live in Australia so it’s different for us.

Im not familiar with Crumbl. Can you describe the type of cookie for me? Shortbread/sandy like?
Soft..like a Lofthouse cookie?
Thanks!
Chahinez
Hi Liz!
Of course, Crumbl is this new bakery that has recently popped up all over the US. Their cookies are soft and chewy just like the Lofthouse cookies!
Hope this helped 🙂
Have a great Sunday.

Ellie
do you recommend eating them chilled, room temp, or slightly warmed up?
Chahinez
Hi Ellie!
You could honestly eat them however you desire. I know the ones at CRUMBL are serve chilled so I did that but my boyfriend and sister prefer them a little warmer or at room temp. So I would say it depends on preference.
Chahinez
regina
What degrees do we preheat the oven to? And how long do we bake them for??
Chahinez
These bake at 350F for 8-9 minutes!
Laurel
Hey, I accidentally added the sugars with the rest of the dry ingredients. Will it be ok to keep going and mix it all together or should I start over to cream the butter with? I have the butter/egg/vanilla mixture separate. Please help! Thanks 😊
Chahinez
You’re okay! 🙂
Let me know how they turn out!
