Pull out the cookie logs from the fridge and slice cookies about ½ inch thick
Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet about 1-2 inches apart because they will get a little bigger and we don’t want them to touch.

While the cookies are cooling, crush your candy canes completely.
When the chocolate slice and bake cookies are completely cool, melt the candy melts according to the package and dip the chocolate cookie into the candy melt.
Sprinkle the peppemrint candy over the cookie right after dipping it in the candy melt since it dries quickly.

Tips to make the best slice and bake chocolate peppermint cookie recipe!
As always, there are a couple of tips I will give your to make the best cookies ever!
- Cut cookies of the same size- If the cookies are all cut into different sizes they won’t bake evenly. So try your hardest to have them all be the same size.
- Don’t over bake! I’m pretty much repeating myself at this point, but never over bake your cookies. They will continue baking as they cool down, just trust the process and the recipe 😉
- Dip and sprinkle- When dipping the cookies in the candy melt, sprinkle them with the crushed up peppermint candy canes right away. The candy melts hardens quickly, so if you wait too long the candy won’t stick.
