We are deep in holidays season, aka the most wonderful time of the year and whoever says holidays, says peppermint mocha drinks. It is that flavor that always makes me embrace this season to the fullest. Because at the end of the day, there is nothing better and more cozy than a delicious cup of peppermint mocha coffee!

This year particularly, I want to help you skip those pesky coffee shop lines and whip up your festive homemade peppermint coffee creamer to enjoy whenever you feel like it! With simple ingredients like half-and-half, peppermint syrup, cocoa powder, and a little vanilla you will find that it is an incredibly easy thing to make and will cost you a whole lot less than purchasing it from the store!

You might be wondering, why not just buy it from the store, well, last week I went to the store and saw that they were out of my favorite brand, so I took it upon me to make a homemade version to elevate my coffee break and keep the holiday spirit going!

Since you are here and I know you love peppermint flavors, here are some of my favorites, peppermint bark cookies, Starbucks peppermint mocha frappuccino, peppermint fudge, as well as my famous chocolate chip peppermint cookies.

Frequently asked questions – FAQ

How to store homemade creamer?

You can store your homemade creamer in a mason jar with the lid tightly closed or in an airtight bottle in the fridge for up to 1 week. This recipe usually gives me enough to enjoy with my daily cup of coffee!

How to use this creamer?

Make sure to shake the creamer well before each use. You can add as little or as much as you would like but as a rule of thumb start with 2-3 tablespoons for each cup of hot or iced coffee and see how you like it. If you prefer it a little sweeter, feel free to add more! You can also use it in your hot cocoa in moderation!

Can I make this creamer dairy-free?

Of course! If you want to make this recipe dairy free opt for coconut milk or almond milk, or even that extra creamy oat milk instead of the regular dairy in this recipe. It will make a delicious creamer regardless. This makes it vegan friendly as well!

Is there a way to make it extra chocolatey?

Of course! You can add 1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder on top of what is recommended for a stronger chocolate flavor. You could also mix in some chopped dark choclate while you are heating up the mixture to get it emulsified with the liquids.

What is the best way to serve this creamer during the holidays?

I love serving this with a cup of hot or cold coffee but adding a giant swirl of whipped cream and some crushed up candy canes on top to make it feel like a party. You could also make it as a gift, just add it to a glass jar, wrap it up with beautifl Christmassy ribbons and share your homemade gift with loved ones.

What if I don’t have peppermint syrup and need this recipe ASAP!

No worries! You can still enjoy this delicious creamer, all you have to do is add in ½ cup sweetened condensed milk, ½ teaspoon peppermint extract (NOT SPEARMINT!!) to 1 cup of heavy cream. Make the rest of the recipe as instructed in the recipe card!
