It’s that time of year which means everything holiday-related is right around the corner. Since I’ve been thinking about and planning all my holiday baking ahead of time I started daydreaming about snickerdoodle cookies.

Now, it is still really hot even though we’re in the middle of September! I decided to go with snickerdoodle cookie dough truffles that require no oven or baking to keep the house cool.

Now this recipe is made with heat treated flour to keep them on the safe side and make sure any possible bacteria has been removed. They also have cinnamon in the cookie dough to really bring out that snickerdoodle flavor out a bit more.

  • Granulated & brown sugar- The mixture of sugars will give this cookie dough the perfect texture and flavor.
  • Vanilla extract- This is will give extra depth of flavor to the cookie dough.
  • Heavy cream – This is used instead of raw eggs.
  • Flour- Heat-treated all-purpose flour works great for this recipe.
  • Salt- Always use a little salt in your sweet treats to balance out the flavors.
  • Cinnamon– Can’t have snickerdoodle cookies without cinnamon! Use high-quality cinnamon for ultimate flavor.

  2. Mix in the heavy cream and vanilla extract until combined.

  • Bake the flour at 350F for 5 minutes before letting it cool then using it in your edible cookie dough recipe is a must. This technique will eliminate any harmful bacteria that could be in the flour.
  • Microwave the AP flour in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until it reaches 165F. About 1 minute and 15-30 seconds. Stir in between every time.

  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoon heavy cream or milk
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon cinnamon

  • Cream the butter and sugars together, then add in the vanilla and heavy cream or milk and mix to combine.
  • Mix in the flour, salt, and cinnamon until dough forms. Serve and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  • The option option is to scoop 1-2 tablespoon cookie dough balls and roll them in cinnamon sugar and serve later!

    Delicious! Or as my husband says, “Holy f***!” Super simple and easy to make. Took about 15 minutes and this was the perfect amount for two people. This would be delicious with ice cream too!
