Frequently asked questions – FAQ

What is a Kentucky butter cake and what does it taste like?

The OG Kentucky butter cake is a thick pound cake made in a bundt pan. After baking it, usually you will poke holes in it then drench it in vanilla-run-flavored butter syrup.

The butteriness of it is what makes it extra special.

How to store Kentucky butter cake cookies?

You can store these cookies at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

You can also store them in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 7 days.

Just know that the powdered sugar might melt it so you’ll have to sprinkle them with it again before enjoying them again.

I made these last week; they were AWESOME!! They tasted exactly like Kentucky Butter Cake, but in cookie form. I love that the recipe only made 6 cookies since I was trying them for the first time. They were soft, buttery, cake-like and the buttery glaze topped it all off!!!

Loved making these, turned out super soft and the sauce on top was delicious! Curious do they stay good in fridge or counter better for left overs? I don’t want them to harden up but not sure if they go bad on the counter….thanks!

I accidentally added an extra cup of flour the first time I tried baking these. (I doubled the recipe and wasn’t paying attention apparently.) Do not recommend that.

I’m about to give it another go and this time, if I get the flour right, I’m confident they’ll be perfect.

Last week I tried the KY butter cookie from Crumbl which is very good. When I came across this recipe I had to try it. The texture is not the same and the glaze is different however this in itself is a good cookie. I enjoyed it so I gave 5 stars for creating your version!
