Crumbl bakery finally brought back the honey bun cookie and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. I immediately went to the store on Monday to try them and remake them for you. I wasn’t surprised by how soft and chewy the cookies were. That’s what Crumbl has been delivering for a while and I’m obsessed… Except for how sugary the cookies can be sometimes.
These on the other hand were perfectly spiced with cinnamon, plus the honey glaze took them to a whole new level. Recreating this cookie was so fun and I can’t wait for you to try and remake it at home. Trust me when I say it will bring back all the good memories!

Do I have to make the cookies with the swirls on top?
You absolutely don’t have to. I think it’s a cute little touch to make the honey bun cookies really look like honey bun cookies but at the end of the day, it is a little more laborious.

My kids loved these I put pecans over the glaze which made them even better if you like nuts. Soft , chewy and rich flavor.
Chahinez

newschoolhousewife
The most perfect cookie.
Chahinez
YAY! Thank you so much!

I made this last night, and let’s just say I should have doubled the recipe!! I added more cinnamon and omitted the butter extract because by the time I made them the grocery store was closed. They still came out soft, delicious, and dare I say better than Crumbl’s version! I will be making these again very soon.
Chahinez
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed these cookies!

Ana
I made these today and they are so good! Thanks for the recipe!
Chahinez
You’re welcome!
Alice
Delicious cookies with such a sweet glaze! My family loved them and gobbled them down in one sitting!! I was relatively indifferent, normally I’m not a fan of honey, lol! These were pretty good though. I added 1/4 tsp cinnamon instead of 1/8 because I do love my cinnamon. I’ll probably make these again 😀
Lucy
You say leave on the cookie sheet 15-20 minutes. Is that in the oven as it cools or take it out and put on the counter?’. Doesn’t seem like enough bake time for such a large cookie.
Chahinez
Hi Lucy!
These cookies are supposed to be very soft so underbaking them and then letting the heat of the cookie and baking sheet continue to bake the center.
Chahinez
Mikela
Soft, butttery, and delicious! Three words we all love to hear when talking about cookies! Great recipe!

OMG!! These are IDENTICAL (if not better) than the Crumbl version. I just made these and they’re delicious! My hubby says they’re better than the real ones we had last night. I used 2 small circle cutters to create the lines and it was perfect! Thanks for sharing.
Chahinez
Thank you so much for trying these Ardy! I am so happy you thought that they were just as good and even better than the real thing!

Why is there such little cinnamon? Your crumbl fry bread cookie called for a full teaspoon. I’m just doubtful the cinnamon flavor will be there from just 1/8 tsp
Chahinez
The honey bun cookies from Crumbl didn’t have much cinnamon flavor to be honest that’s why this recipe doesn’t use as much. Feel free to use more to adjust this recipe to your liking 🙂

Sara
Just made these tonight and they are sooo good!! I’ve had Crumbl cookies before, and honestly didn’t care for them. They were dry and the flavor tasted artificial. These were so delicious, I’m going to have to bake another batch tomorrow!!
Chahinez
I am so happy that these were a lot better than the Crumbl version! I love making cookies at home because you can control what you put in them!

Emily
We just made these today and we LOVED THEM.
I have two suggestions for anyone making these cookies:
1. Double the recipe because… They are D.E.L.I.S.H.
2. Lay the icing on THICK! By the end we got the right amount on each cookie but we were so eager to eat them the first few just got a single layer and it all soaked in. Which definitely added to the flavour but doing another few layers once the cookies had cooled changed the GAME.
such a good recipe. So quick and easy to make! Definitely a keeper.
