  3. Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the top of the graham crackers, using a spatula to spread it out so all the crackers are covered.
  4. Bake in the oven until the caramel topping is bubbling.
  5. Let the bark cool completely to room temperature on the baking sheet, then break it or slice it into smaller pieces for serving.

Recipe Tip: Toast the pecans on a stovetop pan for 5-10 minutes on medium heat or until they become fragrant before adding them to the mixture. This will help bring out an even deeper, stronger flavor that is definitely worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ

If I don’t like butterscotch, can I make a caramel sauce version?

Absolutely! The only difference would be switching out the brown sugar and using 1/2 white sugar and 1/2 brown sugar instead, that’s it! Just swap out that ingredient, follow the same instructions, and you’ll have yourself a perfect caramel-pecan pie bark recipe!

But honestly the brown sugar actually is an ingredient used in pecan pie so by switching it out you might end up with a different flavor. Just keep that in mind!

How do I store leftovers of this pecan pie bark recipe?

Place your leftover pieces in an airtight container or ziplock bag. You can leave it on the kitchen counter at room temp for 3-4 days or in the fridge for a week or two.

Can I add chocolate to this recipe?

That would be delicious! Drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled bark or sprinkle chocolate chips on top before baking for a chocolate pecan pie bark.

Can I use salted butter instead of unsalted butter?

Yes, you can substitute salted butter if thatโ€™s what you have on hand. Just omit the pinch of salt in the recipe to avoid an overly salty flavor.

What other nuts could I use instead of pecans?

Walnuts or almonds make good substitutes if you prefer other nuts or donโ€™t have pecans on hand. The flavor will change slightly, but it will still be delicious.
