Ingredients for this 4th of July fruit kabob recipe

Here are the ingredients you will need to make this 4th of July skewers. Make sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the full detailed ingredient measurements.

  • Bananas- I decided to go with bananas because it gives it a beautiful break of color and has a different texture from the other fruits so it’s a play on textures as well.
  • Strawberries– The strawberries have the most perfect red color and will make your fruit skewers stand out even more.
  • Blackberries & blueberries– You honestly don’t have to use both but I think they looked really nice with both of these fruits and they added different textures as well!

Ingredient substitutions

The beauty of these 4th of July fruit skewers is that you can pretty much play around and create your own version very easily. As long as you use red white and blue fruits or candies.

  • More red fruits you can use would be; grapes, raspberries, watermelon pieces.
  • More white fruits you can use would be; melons, apples, pears, dragon fruit. You can also use marshmallows, even though they’re not fruits, they will still look cute.
  • More blue fruits you can use; dark grapes, and plums could be used here.

Frequently asked questions – FAQ

Can I make these 4th of July red white and blue fruit skewers ahead of time?

If you are making these for a crowd, it’s better to make them the day of. The bananas tend to brown a little bit so they wouldn’t be as pretty to look at.

But if you have leftovers you can totally eat them the next day. They might not look so good. But they will still taste amazing!

Can I make a larger batch?

Of course! The recipe card shows the ingredients for only 8 skewers but you can either click x2 or x3 for it to double or triple it for you.

Sine this recipe is so easy, you might not even need to do that. Just get a bunch of fruits and skewers and start playing around making yourself these deliciously healthy red white and blue fruit kabobs.
