Make your s’mores toast as fancy as can be with this fun recipe. Make it using French bread, toasted marshmallow fluff, a square of intense dark chocolate and some salted graham cracker streusel. You will have every ingredient from the traditional s’mores sandwich but fancier!

Fancy S'mores toast recipe indoors

Sometimes recipe come to me in the middle of the night when I am laying there wide awake. This particular one was definitely one of them! A couple of nights ago I was trying to fall asleep, as per usual it was a struggle but instead of fighting it I let my mind wander.

I know I wanted to bring you a delicious and easy S’mores recipe that you could make for yourself or for others before the summer ends and it hit me! Let’s put marshmallow fluff on bread, toast that and top it with everything that makes S’mores… well S’mores.

This is a fancier S’mores toast recipe so beware, you might become addicted!

When I think of s’mores, I automatically think of long summer day. Where the sun doesn’t set until 9 pm and you have no worried in the world. Well this year definitely through a curve ball at what it means to be summer. But hey, with this recipe you’ll forget about all your problems. Even if it’s for just a brief moment!

The cool part about this s’mores toast recipe is that it could be considered a dessert for summer recipe but it would also be looked at as an anytime dessert recipe because you make this s’mores dessert indoors. It is the perfect comfort food treat when you need a little pick me up or extra self care.

Why I love s’mores so much!

Can you believe that for 15 years of my life, I had no clue what s’mores were! Yes! I’m serious, in Algeria, we didn’t have s’more so I wasn’t aware of this miracle dessert!

S’mores to me are the best treat to have in the summer time because you only need a couple of ingredients and about 5 minutes to make and eat like 3 of them! Sure, they are a little dangerous because you can get carried away and consume way too much sugar that you intended but hey it’s okay sometimes.

Why I love s’mores has to do with how quick they are to make, as well as how versatile they are. You can pretty much have s’mores anything and I am all about that! The best example is this fancy s’mores toast, it’s completely different from your regular s’mores sandwich but it still has all the ingredients that are used traditionally.

Ingredients to make this fancy s’mores toast recipe

To make this fun, yet different summer s’mores recipe you will need :

  • Good bread- I used artisan french bread, large enough to spread as much marshmallow fluff as I could!
  • Marshmallow fluff– Any marshmallow fluff works, extra points if you make your own 🙂
  • Ghirardelli chocolate squares– I used intense dark Ghirardelli chocolate with sea salt and almonds. It added a crunch and was insanely good.
  • Almonds– Make sure your almond are toasted to get an extra crunch and nutty flavor.
  • Honey graham cracker– You can use whatever graham crackers you’d like, I used the honey one but you can try either chocolate or even cinnamon.
  • Sugar– Just. a little sugar to make our graham cracker streusel.
  • Butter– some melted butter to hold the streusel together.

To make these easy yet fancy s’mores toasts you will need to:

  1. First, start by mixing the butter, crushed up graham crackers, sugar, and chopped almonds together. Place them in a baking sheet and bake that for 10 minutes at 350F. Once it’s baked, let it cool completely. To speed up this process, place the mixture in a small plate and place it in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  2. Now, toast the bread then add the marshmallow fluff on each toast and spread it to cover the whole surface.
  3. Using your torch, toast the marshmallow fluff. Top it with the graham cracker streusel, then add the chocolate square.
How to make s'mores toast recipe in the oven

What if I don’t have a torch?

Well if you don’t have a torch to toast your marshmallow fluff perfectly you can always make this s’mores recipe is the oven.

  • Heat the oven to 400F, set the oven rack in the center or top third of the oven.
  • Place the toast topped with marshmallow fluff on a baking sheet and place that baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 2 minutes or until the marshmallow fluff is perfectly toasted 🙂

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • graham crackers crushed
  • Toasted almonds chopped
  • 3 sliced french bread
  • ⅔ cup marshmallow fluff divided
  • 3 squares Ghirardelli chocolate
