What is the difference between old-fashioned oats and quick oats in this recipe?
For this specific cookie recipe, you can use either but each one will give you slightly different results. Here is everything you need to know about what the changes will do to your cookies:
- Old-fashioned oats will result in a chewy cookie that has a little more body to it while still spreading a little more than its counterparts.
- Quick oats will result in a slightly thicker cookie because of the fact that the quick oats end up absorbing a little extra moisture form the cookie dough.
At the end of the day, this will largely depend on your own preference. You can even mix a little bit of both until you get the right texture cookies!
