My First Encounter with Mint Mojito Iced Coffee

The first time I tried this drink, I knew I had to recreate it. But life got in the way, and now, eight years later, I finally decided to stop procrastinating. It took me just five minutes to throw it together, and now it’s my newest hyperfixation! Shoutout to ADHD for finally making this mint mojito coffee drink happen.

Instead of making a large batch of fresh mint syrup, I crafted just enough for a single serving. This way, I can enjoy it fresh whenever the craving strikes.

Since you are here, I think you would love this brown sugar iced coffee recipe, as well as my Viral iced caramel coffee recipe!

Why do you need to make this recipe?

If you’re someone who thinks mint and coffee don’t mix, this recipe will change your mind. It’s delicious, invigorating, and embodies all the summer vibes, even if you’re making it in the midst of the 39F January weather. Here are some reasons you’ll adore it:

  • Refreshing Flavors: The fresh mint adds a unique twist to your typical iced coffee.
  • Easy to Make: This recipe comes together in just minutes and will satisfy any coffee lover in your life.  Plus it is made with super simple ingredients.
  • Customizable: Adjust sweetness and mintiness to your liking. Because we are using fresh mint and not mint extract, it’s a lot easier to balance out that mint flavor to fit your own liking!
  • Single-Serve Friendly: No need to make a big batch of syrup, just enough for one perfect drink. Now, don’t get me wrong, if you want to impress a crowd or host a home cafe, make a large batch of this syrup and become your own barista at home!

What are some tips for making the best mint mojito iced coffee?

  • Use high-quality coffee. I mean, this is a coffee drink at the end of the day, so make sure you are using a high-quality cold brew. I love La Colombe, and Stok!
  • Use fresh mint for the best flavor. Make sure your mint is bright and fresh for the best flavors.
  • Muddle the mint gently to release the essential oils.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your preference. You can also use your go to sweetener, think maple syrup, honey, or even SF sugars to fit your own needs.
  • Garnish with fresh mint sprigs for extra flair. This will bring those coffee shop vibes to your home!

Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ

Can I make this ahead of time?

While it is best to enjoy this mojito mint coffee fresh, you can always make the minty, sweet brown sugar syrup ahead of time and store it in the fridge for the next day. That way, you can top it with your coffee and cream, and you are ready to go!

How Much Caffeine does this drink have?

A standard 8-ounce cup of cold brew coffee can contain anywhere from 100 to 200 milligrams (mg) of caffeine.

But those amount vary, and here is why:

  • Brewing method: The longer the coffee grounds are steeped, the more caffeine is extracted.
  • Coffee beans: Different types of coffee beans have varying caffeine content.
  • Roast level: Generally, darker roasts have slightly less caffeine than lighter roasts.

Keep in mind: This is just an estimate. The actual caffeine content can vary significantly depending on the specific brand and brewing method you decide to go with.

Can I make this drink dairy-free?

Yes! I think that cream works best for the perfect balance of mint, coffee, and creaminess, so the next best option would be the extra creamy oat milk or coconut milk. But of course, any other dairy-free milk would work here, but might taste slightly different.

What would you say is the best type of coffee to use?

Cold brew works best because of its smooth, less acidic taste.

Can I make a Keto-friendly version?

Of course! Use a keto-friendly, low-calorie sweetener to make your simple syrup, and you’ll be ready to go. Some of my favorites are stevia, or mont fruit sweeteners.
