How to make Starbucks honey oatmilk latte?
This is how you can make this dairy-free honey latte at home. Make sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the full detailed instructions!
- Mix the hot water and honey in a mug together.
- Top that with the steamed milk.
- Add in the espresso.
- Sprinkle some cinnamon on top and enjoy!
How to make a latte without an espresso machine?
The lattes you order at Starbucks are made with espresso, but you don’t have to use espresso when whipping up a homemade latte. Instead, you can use strongly brewed coffee.
Starbucks recommends you brew their Fall Blend coffee using a ratio of 10 grams of ground coffee to 180 mL of water. For this Honey Oat Latte, I brewed a small batch of coffee using the ratio of 10 grams of coffee to 150 mL of water. And that worked out well! The flavor of the coffee was still present even after adding milk and sugar, creating the perfect drink to enjoy for your Me Moment this fall.
Frequently asked questions – FAQ
What is Oatmilk?
Oat milk is pretty much an oat water mixture blended together then strained to give you the milky liquid.
In a lot of the store-bought oatmilks you will find added ingredients to make it creamy and a little sweeter as well.
What’s be the best Oatmilk to use for Oatmilk lattes?
Not all oatmilks are created equal! When it comes to lattes, I like to go with a more thick and creamy oatmilk like the Oatly, Chobani, Planet Oat, or Pacific Foods. Most of this will froth up beautifully and yield a creamy and delicious dairy-free latte.
How do you froth Oatmilk for honey oatmilk latte?
To froth your oat milk you have a few options here:
- Heat up the milk on the stove or the microwave then using a hand held frother, froth it.
- Pour the milk in a blender, and blend until foamy, pour in a mug and heat up in the microwave.
- Pour the milk in a mason jar then seal, shake it well until the milk foams up then heat it up in the microwave.
- Use an instant milk frother cup which is what I usually use.
How much honey should I really use in my latte?
When it comes to honey, you can use s little or as much honey as you like. I usually like to go with one tablespoon to keep the honey flavor and sweetness very subtle.
But if you are like my sister and prefer your drinks a little sweeter, use two tablespoons of honey instead.
Can I make this latte vegan?
Technically yes, but it won’t be a honey latte anymore. You can use maple syrup instead of honey which will be equally as delicious and cozy and you will have yourself a vegan oatmilk latte to enjoy anytime!
Can I make this drink iced?
Of course! I understand that when the weather gets warmer you might want something a little colder and refreshing.
Instead of steaming the milk, just pour it over ice with the espresso and honey+hot water mixture and enjoy!
