An iced mocha made with brewed coffee and chocolate sauce in 5 minutes. The sauce dissolves into the coffee before the ice goes in, so the chocolate stays suspended instead of sinking.
Combine the coffee and the chocolate sauce in a cocktail shaker or a mason jar. Close the lid and shake vigorously.
6 oz strongly brewed coffee , 2 tbsp chocolate sauce
Alternatively, you can combine the coffee and the chocolate sauce into your serving glass and use a handheld frother to mix it together then top it with ice.
Pour in a tall glass full of ice and top it off with half and half. Enjoy as is or top it with whipped cream and an extra drizzle of chocolate sauce.
3/4 cup ice, 1/4 cup half and half, whipped cream optional
Taste and add the simple syrup if you'd like it sweeter.
Notes
Ratio rule: 3 parts coffee to 1 part cream, with 2 tablespoons of chocolate sauce per 6 ounces of coffee. Scale from there for any glass size. Combine the coffee and sauce first and shake or froth until there are no streaks on the sides of the jar. Only then add ice. Chocolate sauce will not dissolve into already-cold, already-diluted coffee, which is why homemade iced mochas usually end in a puddle of syrup at the bottom.
