This time, I am bringing you a recipe that bring out so many happy memories for me. I’ve always had this when I went over to my grandmothers house. She knew I loved shrimp, and she had such a unique and different way to season it and make it that it really made a huge impact on how I make my own now too!
I have honestly always tried to make this recipe for as many people as possible because I feel like it is so underated!

Pairing suggestions for these baked cinnamon shrimp skewers
Just like with any protein, I love pairing my baked cinnamon shrimp skewers with a nice carby side! I would reccomend a side of brown rice or quinoa for a quick healthy dinner or an on the go meal-prep meal idea.
When I made my Healthy Baked Cinnamon Shrimp Skewers, I paired them with Mushroom & caramelized onion couscous. This meal felt very mediterranean, which was definitely what I was going for that day!
Baked Cinnamon Shrimp Ingredients
To make this recipe you will need:
- Raw Shrimp: I personally prefer smaller shrimpies. But if you want go with a larger size, by all means go ahead! Just increase the baking time by a couple of minutes. De-vein and peel the shrimps before adding your spices. Make sure to also thaw your shrimps befor eusing them if you get the frozen ones.
- Oil: I used olive oil but any high-heat cooking oil works great. For this, I would suggest using avocado oil or coconut oil.
- Seasonings: I like to use a generous amount of cinnamon because that’s the main flavor profile we want here, add some salt and garlic powder and tadaa!
How to bake this cinnamon shrimp in the oven
When it comes to these delicious little cinnamony shrimpies, the baking part is the easiest!
I’ve always made them in a pan on the stove top but this time I wanted to try something a little different. I’ve been seeing skewer recipes of pretty much everything online… Even sweet pound cake and pinneapple skewers, so I told myself why not make my awesome grandmother’s recipe in skewers!
I also love making shrimp in the oven because, first of all it is a lot less messy. All you need is a sheet pan and you’re all set. By making these cinnamon shrimp skewers in the oven you don’t have to continuously worry about stirring the shrimp around, you can set it and forget it… Until the kitchen timer beeps of course!!
The best thing about this though is that you could meal prep it on Sunday and use for the rest of the week!
Alright now for the instructions:
- First, peel and devein your little shrimps, then place them in a bowl.
- Add in the salt, garlic powder and cinnamon, stir until everything is well coated, and set aside for a couple hours or overnight in the fridge.
- When you are ready to bake these healthy cinnamon shrimp skewers, preheat the oven to 450F degrees, and thread about 5 shrimps on every skewer. Set those shrimp skewers on your non stick baking sheet.
- Drizzle a little olive oil on the Cinnamon shrimps, using a brush make sure each side is coated with the olive oil. Bake for 5-8 minutes at 450F degrees and enjoy!

The Best Healthy Baked Cinnamon Shrimp Skewers
- Large baking sheet
- Wooden skewers
- 1.5 lbs peeled & deveined shrimp (count 55-60)
- 1 & 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1-2 tbsp olive oil
- Place your shrimp in a medium bowl, add in the cinnamon, salt, and garlic powder. stir with a wooden spoon to get all the shrimps coated in the spices. Set it aside for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours in the fridge.
- Drizzle a little olive oil on the Cinnamon shrimps, using a brush make sure each side is coated with the oil. Bake for 5-8 minutes and enjoy!
- If you don't want to use skewers, you can still bake these in the oven. Follow the same instructions except for the part where you have to thread the shrimp into the wooden skewers.
- Make sure to scrape the baking sheet, that's where all the juices and flavors are at!!
- This Cinnamon shrimp recipe could also be made on the stove top. Just cook it in a regular pan with a small drizzle of olive oil. You will know they are ready when the shrimps turn pink.
