These small batch chocolate chip cookie bars are a delicious dessert when craving a sweet treat but don't want too much!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chunks

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F then line a 9x5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside. .
  • In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.

  • Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.

  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.

  • Press the dough into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Top with more chocolate chunks.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into bars.
