Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

Heat treat the flour

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and spread the flour on a baking sheet. Bake it for about 5 minutes, stirring every now and then. Check with a thermometer to make sure it reaches 165°F. Once done, let the flour cool completely before using it in your recipe. If you've got extra, store it in a sealed container for later. Make the cookie dough

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth and well combined.
