Wash and roughly chop apples (no need to peel), removing cores. Peel and slice the orange. Place everything in the instant pot.
8-10 medium apples, 1 large orange
Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, ginger, allspice, and sweetener (if using) to the pot. Pour in 10-12 cups of water, enough to cover the fruit.

Lock the lid, and pressure cook on High for 15 minutes. Let it naturally release for 20 minutes.
Open the lid and mash the apples and oranges with a potato masher to release the flavors.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing to extract all the liquid.
Taste, adjust sweetness if needed, and serve warm. Garnish with extra orange slices or cinnamon sticks if desired.
