Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour + 3tbsp
  • ½ tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup black cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, black cocoa powder, corn starch, baking powder, and salt.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  • Scoop about 2 tablespoon of dough onto the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until set.
  • Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
