- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons whole milk as needed to achieve the perfect consisntency.
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
Brown the Butter:
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the butter turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma.

Remove from heat and transfer to a glass bowl let it cool until it is softened. I like to place my bowl of brown butter in a large bowl of ice water and stir until it thickens.
Heat Treat the Flour While Browning the Butter
Mix the Dough:
Combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a medium mixing bowl. Mix until well combined by hand using a rubber spatula or with an electric mixer.
