Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter salted or unsalted
  • 2 ounces semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder sifted
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 & ½ cup chocolate chunks

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and the 2 ounces of chocolate together. Stir until smooth.
  • Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined then add in the eggs one at a time then mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in 1 cup of the chocolate chunks.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly and top with the ½ cup leftover chocolate chunks.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.
