Ingredients

  • cup Light brown sugar Use dark brown sugar for a darker caramel.
  • cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Corn syrup
  • ½ cup Butter
  • teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, corn syrup, and butter into a heavy bottom pot over medium heat.
    ⅓ cup Light brown sugar, ⅓ cup Granulated sugar, 2 tablespoon Corn syrup, ½ cup Butter
  • Stir continuously until everything is melted and combined. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Pour in the heavy cream at room temperature. Stir until combined and be careful of any splashing that may happen.
    ½ cup Heavy cream
  • Allow the caramel to come back to a boil then simmer for 2 minutes again while stirring constantly.
  • Remove from the heat, add vanilla extract and some salt and stir to combine.
    ⅛ teaspoon Salt, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Allow the caramel to cool down a little before transferring to a jar or your serving bowl.
