Here are the ingredients you will need to make this delicious blondie recipe. Make sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the full detailed ingredient measurements.
- Butter
- Brown sugar & granulated sugar
- Egg: We’re gonna use an egg at room temperature for this recipe.
- Vanilla extract
- Flour
- Cornstarch
- Baking powder: This is our leavening agent which will give the blondie base a little extra height.
- Espresso powder: We want our blondie base to have a pretty strong coffee flavor so I highly recommend using a good quality espresso powder mixed into the blondie batter to get that flavor.
- Cocoa powder: We will be using unsweetened cocoa powder. Make sure to use high-quality cocoa powder to get the best tiramisu flavor here as well.
For the Frosting
- Mascarpone cheese: We are using creamy mascarpone cheese to make the frosting to really give these cookies that tiramisu vibe.
- Heavy cream: For best results you have to make sure that the heavy cream is well chilled before adding it to the rest of the frosting ingredients. We want it to be cold so that it is easier to get stiff peaks in our frosting
- Powdered sugar
- Vanilla extract

Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ
How to store this tiramisu blondies recipe?
You can store these blondies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Can I freeze these blondies?
Absolutely! I like to flash-freeze the blondies first on a parchment-lined baking sheet then transfer those to an airtight container making sure to separate each layer with wax paper or parchment paper so they don’t stick.
Once you are ready to enjoy them, transfer the blondies to a flat surface and allow them to thaw before enjoying them.
Are these considered tiramisu brownies?
Since the blondie base doesn’t contain any chocolate, they aren’t technically tiramisu brownies. But feel free to use my other brownie recipe and add a little extra espresso powder then top with the same frosting as the one used here to get a delicious tiramisu coffee brownies vibe if you’d like!
Do tiramisu blondies contain alcohol?
Classic tiramisu contains alcohol, usually in the form of rum, coffee liqueur or Marsala wine. However, this tiramisu blondies recipe does not include alcohol. If you prefer, you can add some rum extract to the batter for a hint of rum flavor.
What are some fun mix-ins I can add to these tiramisu blondies recipe?
This recipe is made with mainly coffee flavoring but you can also add a few mix-ins into the batter. Here are my favorites:
Dark chocolate chunks
- White chocolate chips
- Walnuts, pecans, or chopped-up macadamia nuts
- Crushed-up coffee beans
Can I substitute the mascarpone cheese?
Mascarpone cheese is a key ingredient in tiramisu, but if you can’t find it or prefer a substitute, you can use cream cheese instead. The flavor and texture will be slightly different, but it will still be delicious.
Can I omit the coffee in this tiramisu blondies recipe?
Coffee flavour is a traditional flavor in tiramisu, so to get the actual tiramisu flavor in this recipe you won’t be able to omit it. I would recommend trying this pecan chocolate chip blondie recipe instead. Top it with the same frosting I used here if you’d like and enjoy!
Can I use regular coffee or regular espresso in this recipe?
Unfortunately, you cannot. If you add more moisture or liquid per se to this recipe you risk thinning out the batter too much and ending up with blondies that don’t bake properly in the oven.
