You can make chef worthy poached egg too!

So, I have heard many people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I would like to say that I do not agree and that that 11Pm/12Am crazy meal that some of us tend to have would be a lot more important.  But let’s be real it is always a lot better to start off your day with a great hearty healthy meal, high in protein and good fiber to keep you full throughout the day. One of my favorite way to enjoy a breakfast that will achieve all of these “requirements” would be to have my simple poached eggs on toast.

How to make poached eggs

In this article, I will first be sharing how to poach a perfect egg and become a self-proclaimed chef with time!f For me poached eggs for breakfast are something I look forward the night before, especially on days where I do not have school until later in the day. Since it takes a little time and effort especially if you are a beginner, bellow I have put together some tips to perfect your skills and enjoy some great poached eggs for breakfast as well!

Egg poaching tips:

  • Try to get nice organic free-range eggs if at all possible. If not just try to use them as soon as you purchase them. (if you have hens that lay eggs for you… Even better!)
  • Make sure that the egg that you are using is very fresh because as the egg gets older the white part tends to become thinner and thinner.
  • If you are a beginner I would recommend cracking your egg in a little ramekin and then dropping it in the swirling water. It will help you avoid multitasking like a maniac.

Recipe notes

*If you need to make a large number of poached eggs before you get to eat them. You can undercook them a little bit and drop them in ice cold water while you are cooking the rest of the eggs. Whenever you are ready to enjoy drop them back in boiling water for about a minute.

* I did find a great website that has a step by step with pictures of the egg poaching process! Make sure to check it out as well right here!
